Iceland is situated just south of the Arctic circle between Greenland and Norway. The international airport Keflavik is situated in the southwestern part of the country, a 45 minute drive from the capital, Reykjavik. Approximate flight times to Iceland are:  from London 3 hours; from Paris, 3 hAours and 25 minutes; from Frankfurt, 3 hours and 45 minutes and from Boston or New York 5 hours and 30 minutes.

It may not be the midpoint of the universe (although many Icelanders tend to think it is) but it is closer than many people think. With the devaluation of the krona in March and April 2006 the travel dollar or euro stretch much further.

We tell you how to get here, what you need to do before you come and what to to after you arrive.
