Bottomless brunch in Reykjavík

Where to Get Bottomless Brunch in Reykjavík?

Bottomless brunch is defined as a brunch experience with selected unlimited alcohol and a set food menu, usually enjoyed in late morning or early afternoon.

Currently, we were able to find four restaurants in Reykjavík offering bottomless brunch options: Kopar, Public House, Bastard Brew & Food and Jörgensen Kitchen & Bar. Two restaurants advertise bottomless bubbles (Monkeys and Kol) and various restaurants offer classic brunch options, including Ráðagerði, Snaps and Apótek.

Bottomless Brunch

Brunch in Reykjavík

Kopar

Kopar is a restaurant by Reykjavík harbor and has been among my favorite restaurants in Reykjavik since I first went there around 10 years ago. As you might expect for a harborside restaurant, they emphasize seafood although you can also find meat courses and vegetarian options.

The bottomless brunch at Kopar is available from 12:00 to 15:00 on Saturdays and includes their signature courses. The prices when this is written are 7490 ISK for the bottomless option (with drinks) and 5990 ISK for the standard version excluding drinks, both options allow you to try as many dishes as you’d like, always two at a time.

The seafood courses are langoustine wonton, smoked arctic char, spicy tuna takitaki and rock-crab soup. Brazzerie courses are tomato soup, grilled corn, deep-fried camembert and grilled asparagus. Brunch specials are rib-eye taco, chicken taco, quinoa-tempeh taco, Belgian waffle with chicken skewers, violet pear and dark chocolate mousse.

Last but not least, the drinks available are prosecco, mimosa, draft beer, white wine, red wine, Fiero tonic, sodas and coffee.

Bastard Brew & Food

Bastard Brew & Food offers a few of their own beers as well as a range from other breweries. The kitchen is open every day until 10 pm and has flatbreads with various toppings, mini tacos, burgers, chicken and more.

Bottomless brunch at Bastard is offered on weekends from 12 to 4 pm. You can choose as many courses from the menu as you want, but only two at a time and you have the table for two hours. All the courses are small and served as soon as they are ready, meaning they can arrive at different times. Prices at the time of writing are 6490 for bottomless brunch for two hours and 10980 for bottomless brunch and bottomless drinks for two hours.

The food options include brunch classics like croque monsieur, egg shakshuka and bruschetta. Tacos with pulled pork, tiger prawns and grilled chicken thighs are also available while savories include deep fried cauliflower, sauteed broccolini and bao burger. Sweet options include berliner, Belgian waffles and American pancakes.

Drinks available are Piccini Mimosa, Piccini Spicy Ginger & Pineapple Mimosa, Piccini Prosecco, Carlsberg lager beer and coffee.

Public House is a gastropub with Asian influences, using Icelandic ingredients combined with a Japanese twist. They have happy hour daily from 3 pm to 6 pm and their kitchen is open until 11 pm.

Classic Brunch

Brunch in Reykjavík

Traditional brunch is available at many restaurants in Reykjavík and we will cover a few of them below. See also our previous coverage of brunch spots in Reykjavík.

Ráðagerði

Ráðagerði is a relatively new restaurant located close to Grótta lighthouse and the surrounding nature. The menu is influenced by Italian cuisine with pizzas that many people say are the best in Reykjavík (I haven’t tried them yet). The location is on a route popular among locals for outdoor activities (Neshringurinn or in English “The Seltjarnarnes Circle”), including walking, running and cycling. There is also a golf course there, a pond, rich birdlife and beaches on every side. I had been wondering for years why there was no restaurant or café there (which could then be called Nescafé in reference to the Nes name, except it probably would not work due to copyright infringement). Then suddenly one day, two or three years ago, Ráðagerði opened.

They serve brunch on weekends from 11 am to 3:30 pm and courses include Italian baked eggs, avocado bruschetta, Ráðagerði brunch platter, bacon waffle and smoked salmon pizza.

Apótek

Apótek is right in the middle of downtown Reykjavík in the corner of Austurstræti and Pósthússtræti, next to Austurvöllur park by the parliament. The menu is a mix of Icelandic and European cuisine.

Brunch is available on weekends between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm. Brunch courses include avocado & shrimp toast, duck & egg, avocado & cauliflower toast and eggs benedict with sea trout. Desserts are red velvet cheesecake waffle, banana brulée waffle and passion meringue waffle. There is also the dessert platter with four desserts.

Drinks can be from the brunch cocktails list or a mimosa minibar with about 10-12 glasses to share.

Snaps

Brunch Snaps

One of my favorite restaurants in Reykjavík, Snaps is a bistro where you can see the chefs at work and enjoy a lively atmosphere in a bright room with big windows. They offer breakfast, brunch and dinner.

Brunch at Snaps is on offer from 11:30 am to 4 pm daily. Dishes include egg benedict, egg Norwegian, avocado toast and club sandwich as well as pancakes with bacon and butter. Desserts are crème brûlée, tarte au citron, fruits & berries mosaic and French chocolate cake.

Drinks available include sparkling wine, mimosa, Garibaldi, bloody mary and Aperol Spritz.
