Open Club Day Reykjavík
On Saturday the 1st of February 2020, Reykjavík’s music venues open their doors to the public from 1.00 pm – 6.00 pm.
There will be a wonderful programme of activities in all the participating venues – such as a treasure hunt, Arnar Eggert’s special music venue walk, open rehearsals, guided tours and workshops. The programme will be revealed in the coming week. We encourage everyone to check it out and find something that suits them!
The programme is part of Reykjavík Music City and the city’s music venues’ participation in the Open Club Day where numerous music venues all across Europe open their doors during daytime for people who are interested in knowing more about their local venues and actively engaging with them through activities.
The aim of the Open Club Day is to draw attention to all the activities that take place inside music venues, the jobs they create and the important role they play in the cultural life of a city. The mottos of the day are:
1. Venues and clubs have jobs. Come and discover them!
2. Venues and clubs care about their audiences. Try it for yourself!
3. Venues and clubs are hubs for artistic discovery and talent development. Discover yours!
4. Venues are clubs are engaged with their local community.
The programme in Reykjavík on the 1st of February will be available on www.reykjavikmusiccity.is
See you on Saturday!
