Secret Solstice 2015 Music Festival: Top 5 Acts I’m Looking Forward To See

Logo

Secret Solstice 2015 Music Festival takes place in Laugardalur, Reykjavík at the summer solstice, from 19-21 June. This is the second summer it is held and I’m going for the first time. There are many bands I’m looking forward to seeing and here are a few of them!

Kelis

When I listen to Kelis I get very nostalgic. My bestie and I listened to her all the time back in the day. I’m definitely sure that I will get starstruck when she arrives on stage, singing her classics like trick me, bossy and milkshake.

She is from Odense in Denmark, born in 1988 and has been active since 2012. There’s a fresh vibe to her music, pop-electro kinda thing which I really like. I’m looking forward to seeing this young artist perform, I’m sure I’m not going to be disappointed.

Young Karin

Young Karin is a new Icelandic band which I haven’t listened to that much, but their song Hearts became very popular. Logi Pedro, one of the band members, is also in the famous Icelandic band Retro Stefson, but the bands are very different from each other. I’m excited to see the Young band perform on Secret Solstice, that will be my first time seeing them on stage.

Hercules and Love Affair

The first song I listened to by Hercules and Love Affair is called Blind. I fell in love instantly. Now I’ve listened to the band for quite some time and my favourites are Blind (of course) and Do You Feel the Same. I can’t wait to see them perform to their groovy, upbeat songs.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

When they came to perform at Airwaves 2011 I missed them and now I’m determined not to make the same mistake. I’ve heard good things about their performance, electro feeling with a good bass. I can just imagine the atmosphere outside in Laugardalur, in nice weather with a cold beer in my hand.
