Tonight, Skyrgámur (Skyr Gobbler), the eight of the thirteen Icelandic Yule lads, will come to town! Have you been naughty or nice? Will you get candy or a potato?
For the uninitiated, skyr (pron. skeer) is a delicious dairy product, halfway between cheese and yoghurt. It’s fat-free and high in protein. That should explain both Skyrgámur’s size (he’s said to be the size of a bull) and his habit of eating other people’s skyr.
